Latest News about the project
by Fred Edwards
February 2008
Up until now I have been exploring Wallace material in the collections of Cambridge University Zoology Museum, the Entomology Collection at The National Museum of Wales, Wallace's palm drawings at the Linnean Society of London, and his fish drawings at the Natural History Museum, London. Other activities relate to organising my visits to the Rio Negro and Borneo. I have spent much productive time talking to George Beccaloni about all aspects of ARW and how we can promote the project to give ARW a much higher public profile.
Other time has been used to plan exhibition venues and spaces. Definites include Usk, Wales (May, 2008), The National Botanical Gardens of Wales (July 2008), Cambridge University Zoology Museum (late 2009).
Interest has been shown by venues in Dorchester, Hertford, Tring. Internationally, the British Council in Brazil are keen to show the work at a number venues (the University of Roraima; INPA - National Institute for Amazonic Studies; The Science Centre, Recife). They are particularly interested in my interpretations of the Wallace's drawings of palms and fish.
