I have been told that Hugh Foot and Dingle Foot were pupils at 'Tulgey Wood'. A small private school run by Alfred Russel Wallace's daughter, Violet. Could anybody confirm this, and did she have any other famous pupils?
I knew that Wallace's daughter Violet ran a small school at Tulgey Wood but didn't know that the Foot brothers attended it (and I don't know the names of any of the other pupils). I had long suspected that Wallace actually built Tulgey Wood (see http://wallacefund.info/tulgey-wood and http://wallacefund.info/tulgey-wood-broadstone-march-2008-copyright-g-beccaloni) and have recently confirmed that this is indeed the case. Tulgey Wood is therefore an historically important building, and it is a great shame that it currently has no legal protection.

Tulgey Wood
Dear Jerry,
I knew that Wallace's daughter Violet ran a small school at Tulgey Wood but didn't know that the Foot brothers attended it (and I don't know the names of any of the other pupils).
Best wishes,
George
