*HOMEPAGE*
Welcome to Wallace2013. Wallace2013 is an informal international association of partners with projects designed to come to fruition in time for the 100th anniversary of Wallace’s death in 2013. The aim of WALLACE2013 is to provide a page where all such projects are listed, in order to publicise them and also to ensure that they do not clash with one another. By working together where possible, we will ensure that 2013 is the biggest and best celebration of Wallace's life and work ever!
Joining Wallace2013 couldn't be easier and it carries absolutely no obligation on your part! All you have to do is to send an email to c.catchpole@nhm.ac.uk saying that you would like to be part of WALLACE2013 and including details of your Wallace-related project, so that it can be listed below.
Please note that it is possible that the Natural History Museum in London may take on the task of coordinating Wallace2013 in a few months time and that a new logo might be designed. It would be great if this happens as Wallace2013 would get a lot more publicity! Anyway, we will let you know if this comes to pass and if the logo changes. In the mean time, please feel free to copy and use either of the logos above on your website - they are copyright free.

HISTORY OF WALLACE2013
The idea of WALLACE2013 arose from discussions between George Beccaloni (chairman of the Wallace Fund) and John van Wyhe, the director of Darwin & Wallace Online in July 2009. The idea is similar to Darwin200 which was coordinated by the London Natural History Museum in 2009, and commemorated the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species. Ahren Lester and George designed the logos for WALLACE2013 - George's being the one featuring the young Wallace and Ahren's being the Pop Art version.
